Travel Horse is the new musical project from Rich McLaughlin (from Magnolia Collective, The Pneurotics, and the Dear Old Blighties). The music is based in alt rock/country with a twist of psychedelia. The live band consists of Jeremy Blair (The Affectionates, Effingham) on bass and Chris Burzminski (Magnolia Collective, The Pneurotics) on drums.

A studio album, Interlude, was released in November 2021. It was recorded at Betty’s Studio in Chapel Hill. Produced by Matt Douglas (Mountain Goats), engineered and mixed by Chris Boerner (Hiss Golden Messenger), mastered by Brent Lambert at the Kitchen, with percussion by Matt McCaughan (Bon Iver), bass by Alex Bingham (Hiss Golden Messenger), guitar, keys, background vocals, and horns by Matt Douglas, violin by Karen Galvin (NC Symphony), lead guitar by Chris Boerner, background vocals by Mimi McLaughlin, mandolin by Andrew Marlin (Watch House), and vocals, acoustic guitar, electric lead and rhythm guitar by Rich McLaughlin, the record will contain a blend of live tracked band tracks, acoustic solo numbers, and instrumentals.
